AceOn Group Nominated For Young Business of the Year 2014

A total of 22 companies battled it out for seven awards at the Shropshire Star Oscar-style ceremony on April 3, compered by BBC Midlands Today presenter Joanne Malin.

The black tie occasion at RAF Cosford Museum also raised money for the Midlands Air Ambulance, which carries out around 2,000 missions each year, each costing £2,500. It receives no Government or lottery funding, and relies entirely on donations and fundraising.

Up for Best Young Business were eventual winners Bronze Software Labs, runner-up AceOn Battery Solar Technology Ltd as well as Pipekit Ltd and Elegant Finishing Touches.

Production Director, Gerry Thompson had this to say on the event, "It was a fantastic evening in a super setting at RAF Cosford. We were delighted to be nominated for the Young Business of the Year Awards 2014, althogh we were gutted to not come away as winners, however we have set our sights on becoming business of the year in a few years time! It is nice to be recognized for all of the hard work the whole workforce here at AceOn Group put in day in day out. This nomination isn't just success for the directors but a company as a whole. I would also like to say a big thank you to the Shropshire Star for organising the whole event as well a Greenhous for sponsoring our category."
